We have set a date for a THIRD Dress A Girl Around the World Sew Day: Thursday, March 20 from 4-8 pm in Country Oaks Baptist Church’s chapel. Margo Amero will lead us once again to teach us how to make the simple pillowcase dresses. If you don’t like to sew, we are also accepting donations to help mail the dresses off. We completed around 200 dresses in 2013. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to come or want more information. Thanks.
Please bring a snack (finger foods) to share since we’ll be working through the dinner hour. (Come for the whole time or an hour – whatever works for you)
Supplies (Bring what you have, buy some new, or just come and sew!):
Equipment: Sewing machine and sewing supplies, extension cords, irons, ironing boards, cutting mats, rotary cutters, scissors, pins, etc.
For the Dresses: 3/4 to 1 yard pieces of fabric or a bright colorful pillowcase (you can also bring 3/8 of contrast fabric, trim, lace, ribbon if you want to embellish your dress), Double Fold Bias Tape (Quilting Binding), Elastic 1/2 inch. Margo has the labels for the dresses. Patterns are also available for download and printing from the website.
Hope you all can come and join in the fun.
You are invited to a Food Tasting and Open House at the new Mill Street Kitchen this Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 10am to 3pm. The caterers for our Love in A World of Hurt event (Margaret Veszpeller and Linda Pettit) have joined together and opened the Mill Street Kitchen and they want your Women’s Ministry to see what they can do!
Please RSVP at 661.827.7558 to come to this event. If you know any brides getting married this year, please pass this event on to them.
