The guest speaker will be Sheryl Geisbrecht, a radio personality, author, speaker and global influencer, who will be speaking on hope and how God takes the ashes of our losses, bitterness and mistakes and turns them into something remarkably beautiful.
Once a rebellious teen-age alcoholic and drug addict; Sheryl’s also a stage-four cancer survivor, a pastor’s wife for over twenty-eight years, widowed at a young age, mother of two adult children. Sheryl knows the struggle of addiction, the heartbreak of disease, the challenge of singleness after her husband’s tragic motorcycle accident took his life. She is fervent about reaching out to encourage cancer survivors, drug addicts, those who are grieving not just to get through their trials or treatments, but to thrive in the midst of them. Through the power of Christ, Sheryl believes every person can be set free from past hurts and overcome whatever challenge life brings. Sheryl loves to help the poor and needy on local and world-wide levels.
Sheryl’s newest book: Get Back Up: Trusting God When Life Knocks You Down (Wheatmark) is receiving rave reviews and encouraging countless women and men to find hope, strength and new courage to face life’s changes and challenges.

The idea of holding a conference first came from Maggie Morgan of the Tehachapi Church of the Nazarene who had a heart to bring all the Women’s Ministries of all the Christian churches in Tehachapi together for support, encouragement, a sharing of resources and advice. She began calling the Women’s Ministry leaders from churches all around Tehachapi and we began meeting in January of 2013, quickly growing from a handful of ladies to about a dozen different churches joining in. We decided to call ourselves the Tehachapi Christian Women or TCW for short. Anyone who is a Women’s Ministry leader at a Tehachapi Christian church is encouraged to get involved.
In the fall of 2013, the Tehachapi Christian Women’s Ministries came together and held a Tehachapi-wide event for Christian women, “Love in a World of Hurt.” Teri Thompson was our guest speaker and about 300 women enjoyed the day.
