Conference Prayer 2016

Conference Opening Prayer by Jennifer Whitney

Dear Heavenly Father,

We praise Your glory and righteousness that you display all around us and within our hearts. We praise Your presence in this place. We praise Your wisdom and knowledge and counsel. We praise Your grace and mercy and steadfast love. We praise You, Jesus, for choosing to leave the glory of heaven and live the perfect life we could not live and paid the penalty of the sin we could never pay. We praise Your power over all, even over death. Thank You that one day at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

Lord, thank You for our country, that even with its problems and struggles, that we are free to worship You publicly today and receive Your teaching publicly. Bless and protect our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world who could not imagine the joy of being able to gather like this and may we never take it for granted.  Lord, thank You for all who have worked and prayed and served so tirelessly and selflessly to plan and organize this day.  Bless each one’s labor with much fruit in each of our lives as well as those in our circle of influence.  Thank You for what this day and conference represents – A picture of heaven, of Your love and grace for women of all ages, denominations, churches, cultures, and backgrounds, as well as Your desire for unity within Your church, Your Bride, and the gift You have given us of Your word to teach and guide us.

We praise that as part of Your sovereign plan, You have brought each woman who needed to be here today. We praise that You know the hearts of each woman here, what struggles each has brought with her today, and that You will work in each of us today. I pray that if any are here whose heart is not right before You or who doesn’t have a relationship with You, that they will not leave this place without knowing what You have done for them and the peace and joy that comes from a relationship with You.

Thank You, Lord, for bringing Janet to us, and for all the time she has spent preparing to teach us from Your word today. Fill her to overflowing with Your word that You promise will not return void. Use her as Your chosen instrument in our lives today.  May the words of her mouth and thoughts of her heart be pleasing to You and glorify You.  May we listen with open, eager, and obedient hearts and take away the unique treasures You have for each of us.

From all that will happen this day, I pray that we will each take away and be changed from this conference. I pray that we walk in a manner worthy of our calling, with all humility, gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  May we be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.  And may this love for You that we share be spread throughout our families, our churches, the community of Tehachapi and beyond.  To You be the glory forever. Amen.
